Provide a performance area to run alongside an International exhibition, able to seat a 1000 people for a series of fashion shows and demonstrations during the day and a gala dinner for 600 people.
The Platinum Suite, ExCel Exhibition Centre, London.
To maximise use of space we drew up a schedule allowing for seven shows during exhibition open hours plus evening dinners.
To meet the needs of the performance team’s, allowances were made for prep rooms and rehearsal times. We designed cost effective technical systems that offered a high level of support for each team, but could be expanded if required.
Our answer was a 22m wide shaped stage with central performance area and small catwalks, supported by a multi camera vision mixing system, replayed to plasma walls and flown screens. The sound and lighting systems were flexible enough to suit the requirements of each performance team plus evening event.
From outline planning with creative artwork and computer drawn layouts, we created a multi functional theatre environment for 3 days of high quality events, seen by over 6000 people. Saturday evening saw a party celebrating Vidal Sassoon’s 80th birthday, who attended as guest of honour and helped raised money for Leukaemia Research.
